Aligning a well-reviewed local firm across AI answers, local pack and directories.
Illustrative Scenario. This example demonstrates how an AI Ask Ready engagement may be structured. The company name, data and results are illustrative and should not be interpreted as verified client performance.
Problem
Where things stood before the engagement
Website copy, Google Business Profile and 30+ directories all described services in different words. AI answer engines and Google's local systems weight consistency heavily - the firm was being penalized despite strong reviews.
Three of the five highest-intent local queries surfaced a competitor as the recommended provider. Paid campaigns were compensating for weak organic and AI visibility, but at rising cost per lead.
Solution
How we approached the work
- 1
Baseline audit and taxonomy
Mapped every service across the site, GBP and third-party directories. Built a single service taxonomy with canonical names, descriptions and location coverage.
- 2
Answer-ready pages and schema
Rewrote three priority service pages around specific buyer questions. Added FAQ, LocalBusiness and Service schema so AI engines could cite the pages cleanly.
- 3
Citation consistency sweep
Corrected NAP variations across 34 directories, retired stale duplicates and standardized categories. Weekly monitoring alerts for regressions.
Illustrative outcome
Potential Improvement Areas
- AI overviews and Perplexity answers now cite the firm accurately for the top three service categories.
- Local pack presence expanded from 3 of 5 to 5 of 5 tracked queries.
- Sales team reports notably higher-quality inbound calls - fewer wrong-service inquiries.
